Flipping the Script & Adding Trims

Ford listened to customer requests, so a new option for the 2025 Maverick is adding an all-wheel-drive option to the hybrid powertrain. This new powertrain feature gives the AWD hybrid models the ability to tow up to 4,000 pounds when equipped with the Tow Package. Ford is also making a change to the standard powertrain, flipping back to the 2.5-liter hybrid engine with 191 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque.

The optional engine is the turbocharged EcoBoost 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 238 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are standard with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is still optional with the EcoBoost engine.

Along with the flipped standard powertrain, Ford also added a new trim: Lobo. This performance trim comes with the turbocharged engine, all-wheel drive, a seven-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel paddle shifters, and a lowered suspension with 19-inch rally wheels.

On the outside of all Maverick models, Ford gave all trims new headlamp covers, and each trim now has its own unique grille.

Upgraded Standard Technology

The earliest Maverick models came with minimal technology, but this is no longer the case. The new 2025 models have a 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster. The new technology includes SYNC 4, voice recognition, a 5G modem, and over-the-air update capability.

Drivers can add the popular 360-degree camera, which makes it easy to hitch a trailer. New driver-assistance technology includes the Ford CoPilot 360 suite with Pre-Collision Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Keep Assist, and Automatic LED High-Beam Headlights. The top Lariat and Tremor trims have Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane-Centering Assist, and Speed-Sign Recognition.
