Rugged Performance Features Inside the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor

First Ever Ford Ranger Raptor

For years, fans of the pickup truck have dreamt of owning the Ford F-150 Raptor. As the high-performance full-size pick-up grew in popularity, Ford finally decided to give the Raptor performance treatment to other vehicles – specifically the Ford Bronco and Ranger.

The 2024 Ranger Raptor might be smaller in size than the full-size F-150, but it certainly delivers the power and styling that Raptor fans have come to expect. Drivers from Homosassa to Tarpon Springs turn to Ford of Port Richey to satisfy their need for a new Raptor truck.

Impressive Power Under the Hood

The entry-level Ford Ranger comes with a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 270 horsepower, and drivers can add a 2.7-liter engine with 315 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. It’s important to know what engine comes in the regular Ranger to see how the Raptor engine differs.

Ford didn’t mess around with the Ranger Raptor engine. The midsize pickup truck comes with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. This powerful engine is designed for off-road performance, so the automaker also adds an advanced four-wheel-drive system with a two-speed transfer case, front and rear locking differentials, 10.7-inches of ground clearance, and a Raptor-specific off-road suspension. The powertrain and off-road features are similar to those added to the Ford Bronco Raptor.

For a superior off-road experience, Ford added 33-inch BFGoodrich KO3 all-terrain tires and 2.5-inch Fox live valve shocks. The front suspension is enhanced with forged aluminum double A-arms, while the rear has Watts-Link trailing arms. Ford offers a few add-ons to make the Raptor uniquely yours, including optional beadlock-capable wheels, cargo management rails, and a spray-in bedliner.

Notable Interior Features in the Ranger Raptor

The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor interior includes a 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster and a vertical 12.4-inch touchscreen with the Sync infotainment software. All Ranger Raptors include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, several charging ports, navigation, and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.

Those large screens let drivers see which mode they are using. The Ranger Raptor has seven useful driving modes that include Normal, Tow/Haul, Sport, Slippery, Off-Road, Rock Crawl, and Baja. Each mode adjusts the horsepower, torque, throttle response, steering input, suspension settings, and exhaust sounds.

The impressively equipped and powerful Ford Ranger Raptor comes in the popular crew cab body style with a five-foot cargo bed. The performance-tuned engine can tow up to 5,510 pounds and carry a payload of 1,411 pounds. The EPA-estimated fuel rating for the powerful, off-road truck is 16 MPG in the city and 18 MPG on the highway.
